Blue ridge April 2026
Temp 60
Level -8 ft
Clarity 12ft
This crystal clear lake is filling up and coming to life . Fish are starting to move back to their spring time hunting grounds . Look for walleye in the 35ft zone during the day and cruising the shorelines at night this month . Everything is waiting in anticipation of the bait spawn to begin which typically happens around the end of April here . Rocky shorelines especially rip rap which we have lots of now will be holding both spawning bait and feeding fish . Jerk baits ,crank baits, magic swimmers, paddle tails ,flukes you name it and you catch walleye on it this month .
The trout bite will start to pick up this Month with lots of fish returning from the river . These fish will typically cruise the grass beds and drop offs from 15 to 50ft looking for an easy meal . You can catch them on pretty much anything shiny or bright colored.
The crappie bite has pretty good around docks up river . Live minnows and 4lb leader will put some slabs in the box . Look away from the docks in low light conditions but when its sunny you need to be under it and tight to structure whether that’s the dock or some structures under it .
